About SOL
Welcome to the home of “Society for Old Lucan (SOL)”. Society for Old Lucan (SOL) works to conserve, research and promote Lucan’s local history, heritage (including green heritage), archaeology and folklore.
We were founded in 2017 by a group of individuals living in Lucan who are all passionate about local history and heritage. We make up a motley bunch; an ex-archaeologist-turned librarian, three local-historians (one with digital imaging skills, another an expert in historical furniture and “big houses”), a Master’s student of local history, a creative and local history fan, and a photographer/drone operator.
Visit our Facebook or 𝕏 (Twitter) pages to keep up to date with discussions and project updates. Follow our Eventbrite page to sign up for upcoming and details of past events.
